The secret is to offer good value to real people who are looking for quality information online where there is a good chance they will find it. Pay-per-click (PPC) Advertising can bring you a lot of prospects at a price which may or may not cover your cost of running your ad. Now, as the story goes, you are to use a capture page before showing the prospects the sales page where you hope they will place an order ... and if they don't, the capture page puts their name and email address on your auto responder so you can send them another offer later with out the added cost of the PPC ad ... that's the theory.

The reality is different! Unless you are really good at keeping folks on your mailing list interested in receiving, reading and responding to your mailings, they will just unsubscribe or not bother reading your messages ... which will make your lists cold and unresponsive.

Keep your lists warm and fresh

... but how do you do that? It's easier said than done, you may say ... and justifiably so, but this shouldn't make you stop trying or give up entirely!

There are a few things to remember. Instead of using an auto responder exclusively to send out one promotion after another, set up a few lists for specific topics your list members may wish to join. Use Google Documents to create a Survey Form and ask your list members some good questions so they can see you care about them individually. If you create these special topic lists using PHPlist, you can turn your lists into community forums by giving each member the opportunity to respond and interact with all the other members on your list in a managed and organized way which you have the option to set or change, as your community evolves.

A good idea is for you to offer the special topic list members the opportunity to become business partner and earn an affiliate commission. Here again, it's important to go about it with a bit of care and understanding so your list members will find it interesting to learn a bit more about your business, the products, services and the marketing strategies in a co-operative, non-aggressive tone, free of any hype and unrealistic income projections.

You may even want to creat your own Membership Site so you can assists your members in creating their own affiliate products and provide them with on-going marketing and sales support. If you can show your members how much easier it is for them to conduct their business with the help and support they are receiving as members of your site, group or club, they will not only continue to pay for their monthly membership fee but also attract new members as well.

The most rewarding part about any form of marketing, on-line or off, is the opportunity one has to add extra value to all your business deals. It may not even cost that much more and produces such amazing results.
